If you follow me on Instagram, you'll already know that over the last two weeks I've been on a series of mini breaks to various European cities. After a rather uneventful beach holiday to Turkey last year, Ollie and I decided that we preferred the exciting buzz of foreign cities to quiet afternoons spent reading books by the pool. After a successful city break to Lisbon in September, we were itching to get away again! That's why I booked not one, not two, but four consecutive city breaks for June, beginning in the beautiful city of Venice.

STYLING THE OFF-THE-SHOULDER TREND
After last week's rather serious post, you might be pleased to see that I'm back with a more light hearted post today! During my recent haul, I picked up this gorgeous off-the-shoulder top from New Look, and I haven't stopped wearing it. Since university finished for the summer, I've been able to shoot more outfit posts, and I can't wait to share more fashion posts with you over the summer. As you read this, I'm (hopefully) soaking up the sunshine in Budapest following a two week trek through Venice, Naples and Barcelona, which I hope explains the lack of posts.

This will be the most personal thing I have ever shared online. I've opened up about my mental health before, but that feels like a walk in the park compared to this. Last week, I said that I wanted to share my story. Well, it begins today. This is my scoliosis story, and it's something I've kept to myself for ten years.

I turned 21 in April, and I can't help but feeling like life is running away without me. I'm a very ambitious person, and I always thought that I'd have achieved more by this point in my life. My prolonged stays in hospital recovering from various ailments along with my subsequent battle with my mental health over the last two years has held me back in so many ways, and I feel like I'm playing catch up. However, after the events in February, I've found a tiny bit of belief in myself. Thinking about the future is the single most worrying thing for me, but they say that writing your goals down means you're significantly more likely to follow them through, so I thought I'd do exactly that.

CHANNELLING MY INNER AUDREY HEPBURN
When browsing through the fashion section of my blog, you might notice that my style appears to evolve on a weekly basis. From androgynous boxy culottes to ultra feminine lace to preppy shirt and blazer combos, there aren't many trends that I shy away from. However, I'll be the first to admit that I didn't think I could pull off a neck scarf, particularly when paired with the ultimate 50s midi skirt. The combination screams late summer on the Amalfi coast, cruising along in a Mercedes-Benz 300S roadster to the dulcet tones of Moon River. Do you know what I mean? Personally, I've always preferred Twiggy, but on this occasion, I'm channelling my inner Audrey Hepburn, and do you know what? Against all odds, I think I like it.
