Chewy Ombar, Cacao And Hazelnut Cookies

Chewy Ombar, Cacao And Hazelnut Cookies at www.marthajanemusic.com
You're in for a treat today! I'm sharing my recipe for these chewy, chocolatey hazelnut and cacao cookies with rich chunks of Ombar chocolate, and guess what? They're not nearly as naughty as they sound! While I don't think treats need to be 'healthy' by any means (I'm chowing down on a slice of Victoria sponge as I write!) sometimes I want to enjoy something sweet without the rubbish feeling that consumes me after I've devoured a bar of Dairy Milk, for example. I raved about my love for Ombar in my April favourites, so I wanted to find a way to incorporate them into some cookies, and this is what I came up with! They're dairy and gluten free for those of you who need it, and the gooey warmth of the Ombar followed by the satisfying crunch of the hazelnut is to die for, so get stuck in!

Dermatillomania And Me | Mental Health Awareness Week

Dermatillomania or compulsive skin picking at www.marthajanemusic.com
In the spirit of Mental Health Awareness Week, I've decided to open up about my own mental health problems. Thankfully, the stigma that surrounds discussing problems such as depression and anxiety has lessened over the last few years, and because of that, I feel able to talk about my own struggles with depression and anxiety without feeling ashamed or embarrassed. However, not every mental illness has gained as much acceptance in recent years. Perhaps it's because mental health problems such as depression and anxiety are more widespread, or more relatable to people who don't suffer with them, but it remains a fact that more rare disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar are blanketed in negative connotations. For that reason, I wanted to raise awareness for a little talked about condition that I've been struggling with for almost two years, and it's called dermatillomania.

How To Nail An Outfit Shoot When You Suffer With Anxiety | Mental Health Awareness Week

FASHION BLOGGING & ANXIETY

I'm sure you're aware that today marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Week 2016, and having recently opened up about my own struggles with my mental health, I wanted to contribute to the conversation in a way that might help others. For that reason, I thought I'd write about a problem that's extremely relevant to me and many others here in the blogosphere: the difficulty of being a fashion blogger when you suffer with anxiety.

April In Five Senses

I'm probably the last person on earth to say it, but I cannot believe that it's May already! Even though March feels like a lifetime ago, Aprils seems to have passed in a whirlwind, and in all fairness, it was a full on month for me. At the start of April, I finished lectures for the year (praise the lord) and immediately travelled up to Shropshire for a few days to celebrate Ollie's birthday with his family. From there, we escaped to the shepherd's hut for some much needed R&R before arriving back to London just in time to start packing up the flat in preparation for the move. The last fortnight has been hectic to say the least, as during the move I also celebrated my 21st birthday whilst frantically trying to complete my final pieces of coursework for the year. Those were handed in yesterday, after 48 hours of non-stop work, and to say I'm both relieved and exhausted would be an understatement. Nevertheless, the blog must go on, and it's that time of the month where I review the bits and bobs I've been loving over the past few weeks, so I won't waste any more time!

Country Walks | Glamping In A Shepherd's Hut

Rapeseed oil field in Hampshire.
It's difficult to believe when I look outside the window, but two weeks ago, I was lapping up the glorious sunshine in a shepherd's hut in Hampshire. I'm positive that I've bored you all to death talking about it already, but one more post can't hurt, can it?
